Software Asset Manager

We are now looking for a Software Asset Manager who wants to take full responsibility for evaluating, managing, and optimizing software licenses for our client and their operations. The role is central to ensuring cost-effective use of software, correct licensing, and reduced risks related to contracts and compliance. The assignment is ongoing and full-time, with placement on-site in Lindholmen.

The Role

As a Software Asset Manager, you will become an expert and advisor in license management and SAM processes. You will work closely with the business, IT, procurement, and suppliers to ensure that the software landscape is optimized according to both business needs and budget. The role combines strategic work with operational efforts in analysis, negotiation, governance, and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and optimize software licenses to reduce costs and over-licensing
  • Ensure license compliance and manage vendor audits
  • Work with SAM tools, analyze data, and produce decision-making materials
  • Negotiate license agreements and renewals
  • Develop SAM strategies, policies, and processes in line with business and budget
  • Communicate licensing issues with management, IT, and procurement
  • Manage risks, forecast costs, and software budget
  • Work with cloud and hybrid environments (e.g., Azure and Google Cloud)
  • Lead improvement initiatives and support junior colleagues

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with at least 3 years of experience in a similar role. We prefer that you have SAM certification and solid knowledge of software licensing and compliance. You have experience managing audits, contracts, and vendor relationships, as well as practical experience with SAM tools such as Flexera or Open IT. You are accustomed to reviewing and interpreting software agreements, have good experience in data analysis and reporting, and have worked with license servers. You have strong analytical skills focused on cost optimization and possess excellent communication skills as well as experience in stakeholder management. Finally, you are fluent in both Swedish and English.
